Gifted Services

Gifted services are offered to certified gifted students. Students qualify according to state guidelines for IQ, achievement testing, and parent and teacher gifted checklists. Generally a referral is made by a teacher and a gifted screening is done. This includes completing parent and teacher checklists and reviewing achievement testing.  State testing is used if available. If not available, our school psychologist will do an individual achievement test.  If a student qualifies as intellectually gifted, we will then have an IEP meeting and determine if the student needs cannot be met in the regular classroom.

IEPs last a year and we will meet at least once a year to write a new IEP.
